 The Developmental Training (DT) Program

Neumann Family Services' Developmental Training (DT) Program provides a variety of services to adults with developmental disabilities who may or may not also have a mental illness. The goal of the program is to assist individuals in developing and/or improving existing life skills through an array of services that will maximize independence, enhance quality of life, and encourage community integration. Each person enrolled within the program is provided with an individualized plan that addresses his or her dreams, interests and needs with an emphasis on three components: living skills, personal development, and therapeutic intervention.

Specialized Developmental Day Training (DT) Programs include, but are not limited programming for people with autism, seniors, people with a severe or profound diagnosis, and those with a developmental disability and mental illness.

  • Developmental Training (DT) Program for Persons with Autism

    • The Developmental Training (DT) Program for Persons with Autism serves adults with a diagnosis of Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder. The individuals in this program may or may not have an additional diagnosis of mental retardation. The program is designed to provide the freedom of choice with an emphasis on personal space. 
  • Developmental Training (DT) Program for Seniors

    • The Senior's Developmental Training (DT) program serves adults over the age of fifty with developmental disabilities who may also have a mental illness. Clients enrolled in this program have the opportunity to participate in structured sessions. In addition to these activities, participants have the opportunity to engage in career services and clinical services.
  • Developmental Training (DT) Program for Persons with Severe and Profound Developmental Disabilities

    • Individuals in the Severe and Profound Program are diagnosed with severe or profound mental retardation. Members enrolled in this program are able to benefit from a specialized form of instruction, including verbal and nonverbal techniques and are provided the opportunity to engage in structured sessions including sensory stimulation activities, expressive activities, stress and relaxation management, living skills training, and choice making activities. In addition to these activities, members of this program have the opportunity to engage in career services and clinical services, including individual and group therapy, psychiatric services, and speech services.
  • Developmental Disabilities Day Treatment Program with Mental Health Focus

    • This program serves adults with developmental disabilities who also have a mental illness. The goal of the program is to assist individuals in developing and/or improving existing life skills through an array of services that maximizes independence, enhances quality of life, and encourages community integration. Each person enrolled in the program is provided with an individualized schedule that addresses his/her needs and interests. Opportunities for a variety of individual and/or group sessions including career services, counseling, rehabilitation stabilization, and social rehabilitation are also provided. Clinical services including individual and group therapy, psychiatric services, and speech services, are also available.

 

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Program

Psychosocial Social Rehabilitation (PSR), is a comprehensive and recovery focused program serving adults with chronic mental illness.  In addition to decreasing and preventing hospitalizations, the goal of the program is to assist and empower persons with mental illness to uncover and utilize their innate strengths, talents, and abilities, while learning life skills that would maximize their recovery to an optimal level of independent functioning in the community. The program provides structure and offers choices among a variety of individual and group activities with and emphasis on: understanding mental illness; wellness and recovery; building and utilizing peer and community support systems; developing and practicing life skills through therapeutic social, vocational, and recreational activities; and extensive community interaction. In conjunction with the PSR Program, perspective members have the opportunity to enhance employment opportunities through career development and receive an array of services such as: psychological and psychiatric evaluation; medication management and monitoring; group and individual therapies, including expressive therapies; case management; and medical services.
